    The Plan

Having more and using less: a holistic approach.

There's a perception of sustainability that it's all about sacrifice. We're happy to report that nothing could be further from the truth. Yes, sustainable practices allow us to use a lot less of our natural resources. But these same practices give us more of other things. Important things, like time, health, economic prosperity and a greater sense of connection to nature and to our fellow humans.

This approach to sustainability (we might even call it true sustainability) comes from a careful, broad-based plan that takes into account how everything — work, home, education and so forth — works together. Mesa del Sol has a plan to bring homes, schools, workplaces, recreation centers, shops, parks and restaurants closer to each other. Which all by itself saves gasoline, money and the most precious commodity in modern life: time.

The community design for Mesa del Sol isn't a new idea. In fact, you only have to head over to Nob Hill to see how well it works. What's different about Mesa del Sol's version is, of course, that it comes with new, state-of-the-art homes.
