A wish list fulfilled

Meet a Mesa del Sol Homeowner, Thursday, 25 October 2012

A wish list fulfilled.

Caitlin Henke and Monica Vigil were looking for a home, but they had two problems. The first was a long list of features they wanted their home to include. The second was an unwillingness to compromise on that list. Finally, after about two years of searching, a friend recommended they look at Mesa del Sol.

“We visited on a Saturday right after the community opened,” Monica explains. “And we found a home that had everything — EVERYTHING — on our list.” Plenty of space? Check. Super energy-efficient? Check. Solar power? Check. Extremely low water usage? Check. A fast, easy commute to downtown? Check. Within budget? Double check.

Speaking of solar power and budgets, you don’t often hear those two things mentioned in the same sentence. But Monica and Caitlin discovered that they could add solar power to their Manzano Paired Home for a very reasonable cost. In fact, Caitlin’s parents are adding a similar sized system to their own home but are spending twice as much.

They also fell in love with the architecture at Mesa del Sol. “There’s nothing like it in Albuquerque,” says Caitlin. “It’s very forward-thinking. It feels just right for New Mexico but it also feels fresh.”

Problem solved.
