The first station when walking into the Pulte model home was a magnificent hot cocoa bar, with anything you could ever want to mix into hot chocolate. A little further into the home was Santa sitting by a warm fire with a smiling child on his lap(there weren’t any tears all night), and a professional photographer from Bright Eyes Photography, beautifully capturing the moment. Wandering about was Orbit from the Albuquerque Isotopes, bringing joy to anyone who came to meet him.

In the living room you were greeted by two festive Christmas Elves, painting the faces of excited children. Finally in the kitchen, you would find an array if icings and sprinkles to decorate your own Christmas cookies.

A Light up the Mesa Christmas decoration contest was judged that night. Three deserving homes won a gift basket full of Mesa del Sol, Isotopes, and iHeart Media gear, as well as a visa gift card and other local gifts.

Bloomberg Business Highlights Mesa del Sol

Mesa del Sol, Albuquerque’s visionary mixed-use, master planned community in the southern part of the city, was recently featured in NEDO Focus, an international magazine that focuses on energy, environmental and industrial technologies. The publication touted Mesa del Sol as one of the world’s “Smart Communities,” and focused on the smart grid that is powering Mesa del Sol’s Aperture Center.

“Mesa del Sol’s smart grid is the first of its kind in the world,” said Manny Barerra, Managing Director at Mesa del Sol. “This project, which was built in conjunction with NEDO, Sandia National Labs, PNM ad UNM, is the first one where a commercial micro-grid utilized a variety of renewable energy generation and storage sources to supply power to a commercial building. The implications are huge as the U.S. looks for unique solutions to minimize impact on the nation’s electric grids.”
